Cat Martino, known artistically as Stranger Cat, is a multifaceted musician, encompassing roles as a vocalist, songwriter, producer, composer, DJ, sound healer, light artist, video maker, and dancer.. With over 15 years of experience as a dynamic vocal coach and music educator, Cat has written and released 4 solo albums, recorded music and toured with such indie luminaries as Sufjan Stevens (from Carnegie Hall to Coachella and the Sydney Opera House), The Shins (on Saturday Night Live), Sharon Van Etten (NPR Tiny Desk +), Lucius, and grammy winning artists Nathaniel Ratecliff and Bon Iver, providing vocal coaching for many of her peers. Cat's teaching expertise extends beyond vocals to include piano, guitar, ukulele, songwriting, music production, recording, DJing, and performance techniques. She offers a personalized, effective, and joyful learning experience, building students' skill and creativity while rediscovering the fun in learning music. With a wide range as vocalist, Cat really can do and teach it all; Pop, jazz, opera, holistic voice activation and mantra singing, technique, improvising -- overall finding YOUR authentic voice.

Inspired by her parents—her father, a principal, and her mother, a third-grade teacher—Cat embraces the philosophy: "To teach is to learn. To learn is to grow. To grow is to live." From singing before she could talk to setting up neighborhood concerts by age five, her early love for music has seamlessly integrated into her artistic and teaching careers, which spans from Brooklyn to Miami and numerous schools.
